Volunteers needed for Dune/Beach Restoration on the Cameron Shoreline!
The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana and the Gulf Coast Soil and Water Conservation District invite you to participate in a marsh restoration project along the Cameron Shoreline at Martin Beach. This area provides essential protection for our inland communities and wetlands and has been severely impacted by Hurricanes Rita and Ike. We will plant vegetation which will assist in stabilizing and capturing sand in the hopes of building dunes. In addition, the project will also create wildlife habitat, increase species diversity and provide a seed source for natural regeneration.
Saturday, July 25
Monday, July 27 &
Tuesday, July 28
8:30am to 4pm daily
All planting equipment (gloves, shovels, etc.) will be provided. Lunch and drinks will be provided to all volunteers.
